A Long Time Coming

Well, you would think I would go get the camera for this, but you would be wrong. The iphone will have to do.

Dry Wings!

Well, this is a multi-day post. These photos are from three different days.

The first day I saw him, I was smoking wings on the grill, and had just cranked up the heat to finish them off. Went out in the yard and saw him. He was calm and just hanging out. Even with dogs in the yard. I took several photos, and before you know it, I had way overcooked my wings. Dammit. Then on Sunday morning, I was working in the garage on my great garage reorg project of 2021. I came out and he was just out in the yard with the dogs. They weren't bothering him, and he wasn't bothering them. So I took more photos. He stayed in the yard the rest of the day (I last checked on him about 7:30pm). Didn't see him in his spot Monday morning, but when I got home from work, he was in his spot. His 'spot' was at the back corner of the garage. The dogs have worn a path through there as they come in from the yard. They were passing by him by only a foot or less. Again, they didn't bother him, and he didn't bother them. So, more photos. Today is Tuesday, I didn't see him this morning or this evening. I push mowed the back yard (instead of riding) as didn't want to chop him up. After all, he is one chill rattlesnake!

I don't really know what to think. Maybe he has been around for a while and the dogs are used to him.  Who knows. I may try to teach him to fetch. Anyway, I will be on the lookout.
