All Frogs - All the Time

Hey, I realize this is becoming the 'all frogs - all the time' channel, but I had to make a trip to Cave City anyway...

There were two particularly handsome frogs out at the pond (Sloan's Pond) that were kind enough to pose for some shots - although one would have been much nicer if he was facing me. I didn't think I could convince him to turn around so I worked with what I had.

A polarizer filter (and tripod) was used for all but one shot.

Oh, and one turtle.

And a few landscapes.
These are 30 second exposures (the pond shots).

First Dragonfly of the Season

Friday, May 14th
When I have spare time, I have been driving by Sloan's Pond on the way home from Cave City.
Friday was a cloudy, slightly rainy day and the frogs were croaking loudly. I didn't see many frogs but I sure could hear them.

This dragonfly shot has nothing on last year's shots, but it's a start.

I'm throwing in a frog for good measure.

Saturday, May 15th
After seeing a few frogs at Sloan's Pond Friday, I decided to drive up Saturday night and peck around. I got up there much later than planned.  We stayed a few hours (a friend went with me).

Last year I got a pretty good shot of a frog illuminated by my handy-dandy LED flashlight. Before packing up, I grabbed the zoom to give that a quick try.

There were several small frogs on the lily pads, none particularly close to the edge of the pond. Here is one shot that came out ok.

Barren River Flooding

 Bowling Green Ky

Well I haven't been to the bridges to take pictures for quite a while. Thought I might as well get a few shots with the water up from the weekend rains.

The day shots were taken around 2pm CST, the night shots were from 7 to 9pm CST. The walking bridge was closed due to high water when I came back at 7 - bummer. There were fairly large crowds both times.
