It started out ominous looking, but turned out great.

Well, my weather app showed rain and thunderstorms for later in the day. The sky was fairly dark, it was very windy, and I was thinking 'this is a mistake' as I started out on the lake. But things calmed down and it was a good day.

Nice little waterfalls and signs of humans from before the park.

The skeleton of an old horse drawn wagon (I think).

An old well, big enough to fall in. That would be... 'unfortunate'.

McCoy Hollow Falls from up top, and to the side.

This waterfall is an easy short hike (well the top is an easy hike, haven't been to the bottom). I'll put this on my list for a trip after a big rain.

It could be noted that I made liberal use of editing to remove limbs that were - in the way. There, I feel better now.

From the top of the falls at Piney.

Didn't have my camera with me. These are from an iphone app that takes multiple photos and merges them together to get long exposure effects. Not as good as the canon, but surprisingly good for hand held.

Two from First Creek 'Lake'.

This used to be a small shallow lake. Then the beaver dam washed out.

Does not look cold - but it is!

Just a couple from a cold day on the lake (actually I was under dressed). No eagle sightings.

Makers Mark Distillery

Well, not really my usual kind of post.
I bought an EV over the summer, and Makers Mark Distillery has a free charger (and is only about an hour away) - so, road trip.

The distillery is nicely scenic. I have added it to my list of places to look for fall colors. Maybe next October.

Creek Wading Day Two. Dry Prong Buffalo Creek.

Well, I see why they call it 'Dry Prong'. And 'wading' might be a little misleading.
