These are photos that I think are my better shots, are just interesting to me in some way, or help tell a story. Your mileage may vary.

Lake Barkley
We didn't see nearly as many birds on the lake as we did last year. We were only a few weeks later this year than we were last year, so I don't really think it was time of year. Anyway, here are a few egrets, coromonts, and an osprey.

Fishing at Lake Barkley Tailwater
Not a lot of birds at the dam. It has been a little dry and not much water was being released. Several ospreys and gulls were fishing, and of course a few herons.
The first osprey sequence has substantial motion blur. I need to work on keeping a better eye on my shutter speed. I do like that you can easily tell he had a catfish.
One of the herons speared his catch. He walked a few steps to the rocky bank until the fish was over the rocks. I am assuming that was to keep the fish from getting away if there was a mishap. There wasn't a mishap, he didn't get away, and he was dinner.
The last osprey sequence I found interesting as he was confident enough to shake his dive water away with his catch in his talon.
So, I guess, when does a catfish fly? Just before dinner. (You are here for the photos, not the literature!)
