Gotta get there sooner. Bluff cave falls.

Well, I was hoping after the big rain we had had yesterday and overnight that there would be a good flow of water over the falls and into the cave. It was still raining when I took the photo, but not very heavily. Anyway, I will try again.

Moon and contrail.

Was on the kayak out on Shanty Hollow Lake. The half moon was nice, the contrail made it better. This is not a great shot of the moon or a contrail - I do like the combo though.

I have taken A LOT of liberty on the post processing, actually it looks very little like what came straight of the camera. There you go.

Well, hopefully I will grow tired of Nolin Lake soon.

Still liking the new kayak, still liking the lake, still liking the herons.
So... will probably not grow tired of the lake anytime soon.

Two more from a trip up Barren River.

Apparently, turtles are not on the Heron menu.

A decent turtle shot. Spa Lake, Logan Co Ky.

Depth of field was a little too shallow, but a generally pleasing shot. I think.

Ok, more herons.

Hey, they are out there and easy to photograph.

Trying out new kayak at Shanty Hollow

After my decent success last Saturday on a fishing kayak, I have decided I need get out on the water more with my cameras. To that end, I bought a bigger fishing kayak that will make it easier to work the cameras. This was just a quick little jaunt to Shanty Hollow to try out the new kayak. This heron was hanging out there, so I harassed him a little. I am sure I will over-do the blue herons thing in the future - stay tuned. Now I need a bigger garage to hold all my stuff.

Eclipse!!!

Bowling Green was in the path of totality for the Aug 21th Solar Eclipse. I did drive a little west to be in totality longer. These are from the Carriage House Vineyard in Auburn Kentucky.

It was a blast man! I think we had a little over two minutes in totality, but let me tell you - two minutes watching/photographing an eclipse goes by MUCH faster than two minutes brushing my teeth (that seems like eight minutes, but that's another story)!

Partial with solar filter.

Nearing totality with solar filter.

Totality without filter.

Totality ending (without filter).
