More Lost River

More lost river, although at this point, it's not so lost.

Another rainy day. My favorite time to shoot.

Foggy, Frosty Morning in St. Joseph Cemetery (Correction: Fariview Cemetery)

Ok, I knew it was going to be fairly chilly, and I dressed in several layers. But boy, were my feet and fingers coooooold.

Finally, no panos, well no, I just added one.

Really Warped to Just Warped.

Ok, I am going nuts with the panos. At least it gets me out there.

Green River

From the Green River Bluffs Trail. The park has a webcam at this location. The link to the webcam link is:

I don't have a lens that can get this shot. This is 10 vertical shots merged together.

Riley, not Bear.

Normally, this is Bear's spot (my dog). Today he got bumped by Riley. I have to say that Riley does paddle better than Bear (but Bear doesn't stick his boots down in the water nearly as much when he gets tired of paddling).

Biking in Georgia

Rode the bike in the northeastern Georgia area this past weekend. I didn't have many opportunities to take photos but I did manage to throw up the pano rig for one shot. I used a polarizer and that was a big mistake as the sky was unevenly polarized. I tried to correct this, and I did make it some better. Lesson learned.

Let's try a pano.

Well... I am trying something new. Photoshop has the abilibility to merge photos. This is about 20 shots merged, with the camera in the vertical position. Hummm.... Needs work. I'll be kicking this around in the future. I did have the polarizer filter on, and was afraid the sky would be unevenly polorazied but it is not. I actually was using the polarizer to kill the glare of the water.
I used a relatively wide angle lens, with the aperature stopped down so that pretty much everything would be in focus. Due to the wide angle focal length, distant objects look really distant, for example the pier (for lack of a better word) on the right (not the one I am standing on). I will be trying again with more normal to mild telephoto focal lengths. Also, if the colors are pretty this fall, I'll try this in October.

All I have is a few more flowers.

Ok, this is it. That's all there is.

Yes, the middle shot was focused on the grass with very shallow depth of field on purpose. I'm not saying that is a good shot. I don't know what I am saying, now that you mention it.

Frog Number Five

He is a little different from the others.
Yep, he is still a frog though. Frog number five.

Good Looking Fella

I'm not including this for the quality or technical merit of the photo, both are not so hot.
I just thought he was a good looking fella.

Arnold

This is my uncle Arnold. What more do you need to know?

Actually, this shot is the result of using a 'really good' lens.

The Dragonflies are Out

And at least one obligatory frog. (This is frog #4 for the year.)

Over-Sharing

I realize I'm on the verge of over-sharing. So.

This was taken at 1/60th second. I like that look. I'll be trying this again.

A Hike AFTER the Rain (This Time)!

I listened to a good audio book this weekend. I don't mind staying out for extended periods of time with the camera when I have something interesting to listen to. It didn't hurt that it was too wet most of the weekend to mow.
