'The Bridge Again!' or 'Water Treatment Plant Excitement!'

THE BRIDGE AGAIN! I know, I know, find another subject.
Wait a minute... This time I am taking a picture of the water treatment plant behind the bridge, not the bridge - get off my case!

This is a Sunday morning around 6:30am. It's overcast today, but I am going to keep an eye on the sun as I pass though in the mornings. I am thinking I might get a sunrise shot at the right time of year. I think the direction is southeast, so maybe November?

You know it is sad when you get excited about taking pictures of a water treatment plant.

01/08/2009 Bowling Green, Ky

After my previous sucess with the bridge, I ventured out on a nicer night (one week later). It was clear and you can see a few star trails. My hands were not frozen this time. While I was out, I grabbed several more shots in the area.

'Old Louisville Road Bridge' or 'Aluminum Thermal Conduction Experiment With My Hands In the Cold Outside In the Dark'

Decided to go down to the river after having dinner downtown with friends. Not sure what put the bug in me. It was a little rainy, a little windy, and really cold. I was using an aluminum tripod with no pads or gloves. My aluminum thermal conduction experiment was a success - too bad in this case. My hands were numb. (Especially when carrying the tripod back to the truck after it was over.)

I didn't expect much, didn't know really why I was freezing out there. Just looking at the scene, it was dull and drab, very overcast, and fairly dark. No way this is going to turn out good. Well, I was stunned with what I downloaded to the computer once I got home. Most of my stunts don't really pay off.

I plan on trying this shot again in varying weather conditions. The timestamp in the photo is 9:42pm CST; might go earlier. Oh; for the record, this is not highly 'cooked' in Lightroom. I did bring down the sky some; but the saturated colors, I suppose, are due to the long exposure?
